For your special day, Mr.P will perform a wide range of songs from our set list, which appeals to all audiences - from teenagers and friends, through to parents, and even your grandparents should recognise a few hits from the 70s!  To see and hear songs we currently perform go to the set list page.

We can also learn and perform your first dance especially for you, and will play disco music through our sound system in between sets - particularly useful for when you have not also booked a DJ.  For First Dance ideas, see the wedding section of our set list.

What's included in Mr.P's service?

  • Travel to/from your venue* - arrival after 6pm**
  • Set up of equipment and sound check (this usually takes 1.5 hours)
  • Disco music through sound system from 7.30pm until live Mr.P performance
  • We suggest Mr.P's first live set at around 8.30pm, this begins with the live performance of your First Dance (if required)
  • Break for buffet at approx. 9.30pm, with disco music through sound system
  • Mr,P's second live set at approx. 10.30pm until 11.30pm
  • Disco music from end of live performance until midnight
  • Set down of equipment

* If your venue is not within a 25 mile radius of Kettering, Northamptonshire there is a surcharge for travel. This is dependant upon the geographical location of your venue.  Please contact us for more information.

** If you would like Mr.P to set up before 6pm on your wedding day, for example in the morning prior to your wedding ceremony, please let us know.  We charge an early set up fee for this service.


Looking for something extra?

We can also offer a pianist to perform solo background music (classical/jazz/modern) to suit a variety of occasions, including:

  • To accompany pre-ceremony drinks
  • Bride's walk down the aisle
  • Background music during/after the wedding breakfast

Some Do's and Dont's

There are many things to check out before you even start to consider booking any form of entertainment. We've gathered together some general advice for when booking a band/DJ for your evening wedding reception:

  • Do check with your venue if any restrictions are in place, these include; the venue's entertainment licence and any noise or other restrictions that are part of that licence, and the size and layout of the room compared to the space required by the type of artist or band you're thinking of booking.
  • Do allow adequate time for the band or act to set up. On average a quality band will require at least an hour. As it is common for the afternoon wedding breakfast to take place in the same room as the evening reception, don't forget to allow additional time to move tables and chairs if necessary. It is well worth bearing this in mind as it may affect the type or size of act that you book.
  • Don't start the party entertainment too early. Many couples think that the evening party should kick straight off with dancing to the band at 7pm all the way through to 12.00am. However, evening guests arrive and want to catch up with family members or friends, and generally people are relaxing for the first time during the day. It is often better to allow people to have a few drinks and relax with some sensible volume disco music playing, and save the band until everyone is ready for a good boogie (and maybe have had a few glasses of wine!).
  • Don't arrange for the band to play while the evening buffet is served. People are concentrating on the food and the band becomes a loud distraction. It's always best to designate 45-60 minutes for food from serving, it is wise to arrange for the buffet to be served as early as possible, a buffet served too late is a great way to slow a party right down, especially if you've just got things going and have to finish an hour or so later.

In general, a good band or DJ will be able to adapt to the evening as it unfolds as a wedding rarely (if ever?) runs to time!

  • Venue
  • Will Mr.P be able to set up after 6pm on the day, or are we required to set up in the morning?

Booking Mr.P

When you book Mr.P we will issue you with a contract, which you should sign and return to us with a deposit payment. Once we have the signed contract and deposit, the date is yours!  Please note that it is not until we have received a signed contract and deposit payment that we can hold your date for you.  We regret we cannot accept provisional bookings.

If you would like Mr.P to perform your First Dance live, please advise at the time of booking.  You will need to notify us of your choice of song no later than 8 weeks before your wedding day.

The balance of the fee (total fee, minus deposit) is payable in cash on the evening of your wedding.
